About Thalia
- Needs an adult household (age 12+)
- Good with some other dogs
- Needs someone home most of the time
My name’s Thalia and they call me Tallie. I’m not your usual 11-year old Springer, that’s for sure. I am the sweetest dog, with an extraordinary personality and I am very gentle. That’s what everyone says, so who am I to argue?
I am a sweet girl who wants to please, and just an all-around typical Springer with a lot of love to give. I’m so ready to become your beloved family member. My previous family reached out to ESRA for help rehoming me due to circumstances in their home and it has left me somewhat sad. Thank goodness my loving foster mom has shown me that with the right human I can be very happy and love again. She’s brought out the smile in me and I show it with my loving, soulful eyes. I am very friendly, and I have a great personality! I have great manners both inside and out. I am a mellow girl but give me a yard to play in and I’ll guarantee you I’ll put it to good use. I greet everyone I meet in a very gentle way.
In my new Forever Home, I would enjoy going for walks and snuggling with my person. I’ve been in a lovely foster home for just a couple of weeks where I’m learning to play fetch, tug of war and take longer walks. I’m a dream on the leash, and even off leash! And guess what? I just got to see the ocean for the first time ever! (I couldn’t help staring at it the whole time it was lapping at my feet. That’s a place I’d like to see again!)
Waiting to hear from you –
Thalia
From Thalia’s foster mom:
Thalia is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever known. She bonds quickly and minds very well. She has shown to be a bit hearing impaired due to her ear infections over time, however, she is a whiz at body language, so I am teaching her doggie sign language! She is a typical Velcro Springer and would do best in a home with no other dogs. She is a quiet girl and has only barked once in foster care; she loves to give a bit of a friendly growl in the heat of “tug of war.”
Her favorite moments are spent getting petted and snoozing next to you on the couch or possibly on your lap. If you are too busy to pay attention to her, she will let you know by licking you – but we are working on curbing that. She will be your forever companion for the rest of your life and you will never find a sweeter gal than Tallie.
From Thalia’s case manager:
In her new home, Tallie would love her human to be home most of the time, although she has done perfectly fine when her foster mom leaves her for a few hours for engagements. She would do best to be the only dog as she prefers not to share her human’s attentions with another canine, although she is not aggressive and showed no interested in a smaller visiting dog.
Thaila has recently been completely vetted, is up to date on all vaccinations and has tested negative for heartworms. She is microchipped for safekeeping. After being treated for some ear infections, she is feeling good and ready for her new home forever!
Thalia was diagnosed with Progressive Retinal Atrophy in August and has some vision issues, but gets around just fine. She loves going on stretch and sniff walks around the neighborhood! She loves to sniff flowers and plants, so obviously any vision issues Thalia may have has not impacted her love of walks and sensory adventures!
Please remember that we have many older dogs needing loving homes and families, just as our young ones do. Are you ready for a sweet little Springer in your life? One who will be your constant companion and fill your days with unconditional love? If so, please have an approved adoption application on file and contact Thalia’s case manager for more information.
Please note that an approved application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog’s case manager.
