About Rico
- Needs an adult household (age 12+)
- Good with some other dogs
Rico is an 7-year-old liver-and-white male who is looking for a home where he will not live with small children. This boy was loved and adored by his family but now that a toddler is in the home, Rico is unhappy. His family turned to ESRA to find a Forever Home for Rico without little ones.
Rico is smart, loving, wants to please and loves adventures. He currently lives in a rural area where he goes to the forest daily and gets to run off leash. In the past he had experience going to dog parks, but has not done this recently. Rico prefers female dogs over male dogs or rambunctious puppies. Rico has done well with cats and really has no interest in them. Rico typically walks well on a leash with reminders. He is a big, strong guy, so he walks with a gentle leader so that he doesn’t pull.
Rico loves to swim and currently swims most days in the warmer months. He knows several commands such as Sit, Down, Roll Over, Up, Off, Look and Wait. Rico will bark briefly but stops and is friendly when meeting new people. Rico will give a growl and possibly snap at his people if they try to take food or his favorite toy away, but he has never bitten anyone.
Rico is microchipped, neutered, house trained and up to date on preventative vaccinations. This gorgeous boy is ready to meet his new family.
