Pepper is an adorable, high-energy, young field bred Springer who absolutely loves to run and run in his fenced yard.
He is self entertaining and will do solo laps. But if one of his foster brothers or sisters wants to join in, he loves playing chase with one or all of them. He also likes to play ball and will retrieve and drop the ball. Pepper loves to chase birds and recently chased a pheasant. A large, fenced yard is a must for this boy.
Pepper does settle down in the house and has good manners. He is crate trained and eats and sleeps at night in his crate. The door is left open the rest of the time, and he goes into his safe place for relaxing. He loves to snuggle with his foster dad, but will also spend time with his foster mom.
We are looking for an all-adult home as Pepper does get anxious around small children. Older children twelve and up may be considered if they are dog savvy and understand and respect his space. He did fine at the vet and was friendly with everyone. Pepper is anxious in the car, but with short rides is doing better. He needs someone at home most of the time, like the majority of Springers.
This guy definitely needs leash training and we are looking for an adopter who will enroll him in training classes. He does great with other dogs and will need another dog for a playmate in his Forever Home. He is housetrained, up to date on all vaccines, heart worm negative and microchipped.
Pepper is a sweet, smart active, loving, loyal young dog looking for a special adopter who will take the time to nurture and love him. If you think you might be the right match for Pepper, please get in touch with his coordinator.
Please submit an Online Adoption Application if you are interested in Pepper. It is always the first step in our adoption process.
