- High exercise needs
From Ollie’s foster family:
Ollie just celebrated his first birthday on April 13, 2026. He was a breeder release. This youngster is as smart as he is handsome, and he has proven to be a fast learner when you spend the time with him to teach proper manners. He will come and sit when he is asked (especially if you have a treat in hand), and he is slowly but surely working on leash behavior. As an adolescent, he does have a bit of a defiant streak. We have only had a couple of inside accidents, which happened when he first arrived and was getting settled into his foster home routine.
This clever guy will utilize a three-legged purple llama (as well as stray socks and other items) as currency to get your attention. Ollie’s goal in life is to arrest the squirrels that frequently steal food from the birds that he likes to chase. Swimming lessons have paid off, as he now refuses to walk by a body of water without taking a lap or two. His keen eyesight can identify a pond or puddle a mile away, and he can reach his destination seemingly faster than a Lamborghini. However, a tub filled with clean water for bathing requires some muscle from his people along with compensation in the form of treats.
Ollie and his foster brother, who is about his size, get along well together. Ollie is gentle with small dogs at play. He is protective of his foster mom when a larger animal approaches, and he will give a low growl to keep the animal at bay. Ollie is a nibbler, and he will attempt to make his needs known or express his disgust at you being gone shopping too long by nibbling on your hand or sleeve. This youngster does seem to have a bit of separation anxiety, but we have discovered that he can be calmed with specific chew or licking toys along with lots of energy-releasing exercise before we leave.
This boy has proven that he is gentle with children of two or older who have respect for animals, and he really seems to enjoy their company and attention. Ollie is a goofy love bug that will make you giggle and laugh with just a look. He absolutely loves to cuddle with his person, on the couch or in bed. He is a perfect hot water bottle on cold nights. His soulful eyes will melt a heart, and a person might well be tempted to give in to all his whims. Full disclosure: Ollie has been incarcerated for second-degree murder of a throw pillow. It would have been first degree, but we couldn’t prove that it was premeditated.
Ollie will do best in a home with experienced owners that are near him most of the day. Consistent training, as well as extreme attention and love, are musts. This handsome boy will return that love and attention many times over and will make a wonderful addition to the right family. Ollie would love to meet you and show you what a great guy he is!
