Hi! My name is Murphy, and I’m a very special boy. What makes me so special, you ask? Well, besides my adorable face, I have a spectacular personality! My foster mom takes me to work, where I take my job as a greeter very seriously. I love everyone, and the belly rubs are perfect payment for my services.

At home, I love playing with my foster siblings, going on walks, figuring out different puzzles, EATING, and cuddling on the couch. My cuddles are the BEST!

The other thing that makes me “special” is that I have an injury to my spinal column. I was either born with it or injured in the first few weeks of my life. The injury has made me twist and drag to one side. Through physical therapy, I’m learning to “spinal walk,” which means that after so much repetition, my brain and muscles will teach my legs what to do. Other times, I use my wheels (check out my video!). I love my wheelchair because I’m super fast, and I’m an explorer to the core. I do need to wear a belly band when indoors since I can’t always control when I’ve got to go, but I’ll let my foster mom speak more about things I need.

If you’d like to get to know me, please fill out an application and then contact my case manager (see below). I’d love to meet you and show you what a great match we would be!

Love,
Murphy

From his foster mom:
Due to his condition, Murphy will always be incontinent and require diapers, plus urine tests several times a year for hidden UTIs. To ensure that he doesn’t experience any urine scalding, we also apply A&D ointment twice a day, and he is a champ about this procedure.

We bathe Murphy every other week with an antibacterial shampoo to help prevent any issues. He loves this time in the water, and he especially enjoys being blown dry after. You will never be able to dry your hair alone again!

Murphy is not in any pain, and he really is such a trooper! He amazes us every day with his attitude. I know his routine may seem like a lot, but as a dog mom of another handicapable dog with the same issues, I can assure you that the extra care is worth it!

Murphy doesn’t know any life different from the one he enjoys now. He just wants the chance to share all his love with a special person or family of his own. If you would like to meet Murphy, please fill out an online Adoption Application and then contact his case manager via the form below. I promise you won’t regret it. Murphy will touch your heart in the most amazing way!
