About Marley
- Needs to be an only dog
- Needs securely fenced yard
Five-year-old Marley came into rescue after being dropped off at a shelter. Her prior history is unknown to us. We do know she has some setter in her DNA, along with enough Springer to convince ESRA to take her in and help her live her best life. Marley has been caught thinking, “don’t I look enough like a Springer to pass?” Yes, she did and she does.
Marley is clearly a people dog, has a gentle nature, and easily accepts people with love and affection. She loves having her belly scratched and is content to hang out next to you in the house.
Marley does enjoy being outside surveying and running her property line, on squirrel patrol. Beyond that, she is not interested in playing ball or playing with toys. She knows her basic commands and is willing to please her people. Marley is fine at home alone for periods of time and thrilled when you come back!
She is very uncomfortable with other dogs in her space and on walks. She seems to want to have a nice meet and greet at first, but then she becomes very insecure when the reality hits that they’re too close to her. It is best that Marley be the only dog with her beloved people.
The best home for this sweet girl would be with a loving, gentle family, willing to pour all kinds of love and attention her way. Additionally, adopters who would be patient and understanding of her insecurity with other dogs. She enjoys her walks but seeing other dogs stresses her out.
Marley is healthy and eager to find her Forever Hhome to spend the rest of her years.
If you’re interested in adopting Marley, please submit an Online Adoption Application. It is always the first step in our adoption process.
