About Louie
- Good with other dogs
- Needs someone home most of the time
- Needs another dog companion in the home
Hi everyone! Do you remember the handsome Honolulu who was once on the euthanasia list? He’s now Louie, and he’s thriving in foster care! Louie is ready to begin the search for either a long-term foster-to-adopt home or a Forever Family — but he will need a special fit.
Louie is a young boy, about a year old. He loves to play, is fully potty trained, does well with kids, and has a solid start on basic obedience. (He has not yet been tested with cats.)
While we don’t know much about Louie’s past, we do know that he experiences separation anxiety. The good news is that, in foster care, his anxiety has proven very manageable with medication and the presence of at least one well-adjusted canine sibling. Louie is not crate-trained and may never be, but he does very well when left free in the home. His foster family regularly leaves him out for several hours at a time, and he has had no issues.
Ideally, Louie would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time and is committed to helping his confidence continue to grow. His foster mom would be more than happy to speak in detail with anyone who feels they might be a good match.
ESRA saved this sweet boy—now let’s help him find the forever family he deserves!
If you’re interested in adopting Louie, please submit an Online Adoption Application. It is always the first step in our adoption process.
