About Elby
- Good with other dogs
Read about the benefits of adopting a Senior Springer.
At 12 years young, Elby is a beautiful liver and white English Springer Spaniel with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul. Don’t let her age fool you — when she’s walking by your side, many people assume she’s much younger. She carries herself with grace, confidence, and quiet joy.
Elby is the definition of gentle, mellow, and devoted. She is a true Velcro dog who simply wants to be near her person. If you’re looking for a constant, loving companion who will happily stay by your side from room to room, Elby is ready to apply for the job.
What Makes Elby Special
Elby is deaf, but she navigates the world beautifully. In fact, loud sounds and busy environments don’t bother her at all. She responds well to hand signals for “sit” and “come,” and she has a wonderfully predictable routine that makes life with her easy and comforting.
She is:
• A perfect leash walker (no pulling!)
• Unbothered by squirrels or birds
• Friendly and polite when greeting other dogs and people
• Calm around children, often offering gentle kisses
• Comfortable with dogs and cats (she currently lives peacefully with both)
At the dog park, she greets others kindly, then is content to lie down and simply enjoy being nearby. She has no interest in toys or rough play — she’s all about companionship.
Elby would thrive in a calm home with someone who:
• Is home often or enjoys having a devoted companion nearby
• Has easy access to a yard or quick outdoor potty breaks
• Appreciates a steady routine (she goes to bed around 10 p.m. and wakes around 5 to 6 a.m.)
• Understands that senior dogs deserve patience and kindness
Because she needs to go outside every few hours and will bark to let you know, a home where someone can respond consistently to her cues will set her up for success. She happily waits at the door for you to accompany her — she doesn’t want to go out alone; she wants to go with you.
A Few Notes
Elby drinks plenty of water and does best when it’s limited after dinner. She sleeps soundly in her crate at night and goes in willingly. She may need help getting into the car, as she doesn’t jump up on her own. She has had recurring ear infections in the past, but with regular cleaning she is doing well.
Why You’ll Love Her
Elby isn’t looking for adventure or chaos. She’s looking for connection. If you dream of quiet mornings, peaceful walks, and a loyal companion who will gaze at you with pure devotion, Elby may be your perfect match. She will follow you, wait for you, and love you with her whole heart. Senior dogs have a special kind of magic — and Elby is full of it.
