Meet Charlie! This leggy boy with a full tail came into rescue because his owner couldn’t provide the training and exercise that a young, active dog needs.

Charlie isn’t a pure-bred Springer, and we’re not quite sure about the mix of breeds in him, but we do know that he is a happy, friendly dog. Upon intake, Charlie was evaluated by trainers and has since spent time working on basic obedience. His recall is great! His trainers will be available free of charge to help with the transition during and after adoption. We all want the very best for Charlie!

This is a high-energy guy who needs a lot of space and outdoor time to run and get his energy out. Charlie loves to run! He grabs a toy on his way out the door and runs around and around the yard. He will not be content with leisurely, leashed walks around the neighborhood. He needs a family that wants to be outside doing fun things with him. The ideal home for Charlie would be one that can give him the opportunity to participate in dog sports.

While he is crate trained, Charlie would not do well if he had to spend hours alone in a crate each day. Indeed, he should not spend too many hours alone at all. Like most Springers, he wants and needs to be with his people!

Although this energetic guy would be okay as an only dog, he is good with other dogs. However, any housemates should be ready for an energetic playmate. Charlie tends to have a rough play style, so he may be too much for some dogs. He is untested with cats. Similarly, Charlie is okay with children, but due to his size and energy, a home with older kids would be best. Otherwise, he could unintentionally knock smaller children down.

Charlie is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.
