Charlie is a 1-year-old black-and-white pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart! She’s friendly, boisterous, loving, and playful—and she’s the kind of dog who wants to be right in the middle of the fun, then crash hard for cuddle time afterward. Her mom was a beautiful liver and white Springer, and we suspect her dad was a Lab or Lab mix.

Charlie is fully vetted (spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative) and microchipped, so she’s ready to go home. She knows Sit, Stay, Shake and Come, is crate trained (eats in her crate), and she rides well in the car. She’s mostly house trained but still needs attentive supervision and a consistent routine to keep her on track—typical puppy/teen behavior.

She’ll do best in a home that can give her both mental stimulation and a play buddy—she loves other dogs and enjoys rough-and-tumble play, so a confident canine friend who matches her energy could be a huge plus. She’s great with men and women; children and cats are unknown.

A few important notes to set Charlie up for success:

• Sensitive stomach: she has been eating a hydrolyzed protein diet, but could be transitioned to another sensitive stomach food.
• Manners in progress: she needs work on leash walking, counter-surfing and jumping up to greet you. She also digs for fun (not to escape) so she has a designated digging spot in the yard. Charlie is a smart girl and catches on quickly, so with structure, training, and enrichment, she’s going to be a fantastic companion!

Bonus: Charlie requires very little grooming because her coat is shorter like a Lab, although she’s starting to get a little Springer fringe on her tail and legs. Her ears are unbelievably velvety soft!

A playful puppy, Charlie loves playing outdoors and prefers if you are nearby. She loves to play tug-of-war and chases anything that moves: birds, bugs, squirrels. She loves toys and she’s past the chewing stage unless she finds a stick!

If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate young dog who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and love you hard, Charlie may be your perfect match.
