Hello everyone, my name is Charles, but everyone calls me Charlie. I am six years old and am ready for my next adventure. My family moved but couldn’t take me along, so I came into ESRA’s care. I am a bench-type Springer. I have been with my foster mom and dad and another Springer since June. I am very Velcro. Every time someone moves, I must come along and accompany them. I always want to be part of the activity.

I will need a securely fenced yard, since I like to “explore” my surroundings and will return when called. I have been good in the house; I have a crate and like to sleep in there when no one is around. I have had free run of the house and have had no accidents when left alone. When my foster parents ask, I will go into my crate without hesitation.

I have been learning about swimming, I will need more time figuring out how to get in and out of the pool. If you have a pool, that would be a plus for me. I’m doing quite well getting my balls. I have been doing more leash training and will need more work on this as well.

When meeting new people, I will bark at them while still wiggling my tail. I just want to meet them. Often, I will lay down and want a belly rub.

My favorite toys are bones, and soft stuff-less toys. I will not tolerate any stuffing or  squeakers and will promptly get rid of them.

I spend my days going outside and watching my foster brother run around, and then coming in and sleeping in the same room as my foster parents. At night, I sleep all night on a dog bed in the bedroom.

I really like my people best, so I don’t need another dog in the home. However, I do get along with my Springer foster brother. I will do best in a home that has a routine, folks home most of the time, and an active but not extremely busy household. Little people might make me a bit anxious.

I think my foster mom and dad really like me, so they would be glad to answer any questions and tell you all about living with me.
