Young Ben was surrendered to ESRA because of his owner’s declining health and need for long-term care. He was very loved and well-cared for over the years. He is sweet, affectionate, and loving to his people. Ben easily goes into his crate. At night, he prefers to sleep with his people.
Ben will follow you from room to room, making sure you’re doing your daily chores so he can check the list off with you! When you’re done, playing ball is where he’s at! He LOVES to fetch and retrieve the ball with you. Ben is great with children and would enjoy any activity with them. He walks well on a leash and enjoys these times as well. Ben rides well in the car and is good at the vet. Ben would enjoy the company of another dog who likes to play!
Ben is good with cats and basically ignores them. He is smart and knows basic commands. Ben does like to countersurf as he is helping you check the list of cleaning up the kitchen. He’ll let you know if you left something delicious behind.
Ben prefers to have his people home most of the time. He gets anxious and paces and barks when left behind. Some extra reassurance from his new people will be needed to help him settle in.
