Video – Beans Enjoys the Snow!

Beans came to ESRA when his owner, who loved him dearly, had to move into a building that didn’t allow dogs his size. She had taught him commands like Sit, Sit Pretty, Shake, Shake Other Paw, Down, and Ok (cue for going out a door or eating).

Beans is handsome boy who is half Springer, one-fourth Golden Retriever, and one-fourth Heeler, which shows in the beautiful chestnut highlights in his black fur! He’s a sweet guy who just wants to be at your side, the typical velcro Springer who will follow you everywhere. This boy loves snuggling on the couch and even being held like a baby! Beans can sleep on a dog bed, but he would much rather sleep with you.

He is great at playing fetch with tennis balls and toys, although because of his size he could easily knock over small kids. Beans has plenty of energy and loves to run and chase, especially after squirrels and bunnies, so he definitely needs a fenced yard.

His foster parents initially crated Beans when they’d leave home, but he doesn’t chew on things he shouldn’t, so now they leave him confined to the kitchen when they are away. He is a counter surfer, though, so don’t leave any food out! Beans was crated for multiple hours a day in his previous home, so he really doesn’t care to be confined, but he will go into his crate on his own to lie down.

Beans is housetrained, microchipped, neutered, and current on all his vaccinations. He rides nicely in the car, but we were told that he doesn’t like windshield wipers. He’s a strong boy who needs basic obedience and leash training, but he can be walked with a Gentle-Leader type harness.

This special guy so hopes to find his Forever Family soon! Could that family be yours? If so, please fill out an online Adoption Application and then contact his case manager via the form below. Beans would love to meet you and show you what a delightful guy he is!
