They say diamonds are a girl's best friend. Meet Scout, a stunning boy who needs an adopter with the vision to see a diamond in the rough.

Scout's personality is a little intense, but with some positive reinforcement training, your patience and love, Scout is going to be a fabulous dog! He already knows Sit, Down and Come. He's house trained, does not get on the furniture and he's not a counter surfer. He rides very well in the car and he's a good boy at the vet. A little cautious around strangers, Scout warms up quickly and seeks attention. He is unknown with cats and may be happiest as an only dog. Because of his anxiety, we would rather place him in a home without small children and only with a calm, relaxed canine companion.

A typical Velcro Springer, Scout wants to be with you all the time. He will follow you from room to room and wants to sleep near you. It's too early to say if Scout has separation anxiety or if he's just going through a stressful change in his life. Scout would do best with an adopter who is home most of the time. He's doesn't like to be confined, but he willingly lays down in his crate if you don't shut the door.

Scout is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. He's currently getting over an ear infection. His coat is gorgeous and he tolerates being brushed.

Scout is a smart dog who would benefit greatly from training and possibly an activity like obedience, agility or nose work. He would also enjoy interactive toys to keep his mind engaged. A basic training class is a great way for you to bond with him and help him to feel more secure. Scout loves running outside in the yard if you stay with him (typical Springer). He needs regular exercise and would enjoy going for walks; however, he needs help with leash training. Want to play fetch? Scout will bring the ball back to you. He just needs a little encouragement to release his toy for a treat. Fetch would be another great way to reduce his stress level. When Scout wants to go out, he will whine and pace at the door but he won't go without a toy in his mouth!

Do you have time to invest in Scout and room in your heart for his love? Please fill out an application today!

Please note: we will not transport Scout by airplane due to his anxiety.

Please submit an Online Adoption Application if you are interested in Scout. It is always the first step in our adoption process.
