- Liver & white
Rue is a beautiful five-year-old liver-and-white girl that came to ESRA because she wasn't getting along with the small dogs in her home.
Rue is a very sweet, affectionate girl. She is house and crate trained and up to date on all preventative vaccinations. She loves to play with a tennis ball and does okay on leash walks. In true Springer fashion, when she gets excited she will pull on the leash. Rue is a little on the heavy side and our vet has recommended that she lose about eight pounds. Rue has had some obedience training but is a little headstrong and sometimes slow to respond to commands.
In foster care, Rue is doing well with the two other dogs her own size. One of her foster siblings is clearly the alpha and Rue has not challenged that position. Because of her history we feel that she should cautiously be introduced to new dogs and not placed in a home with dogs any smaller than she is. Rue is also doing well with the very dog-savvy cat in her foster home, but again we feel placing her in a home with a cat should be considered with caution as they are smaller than she is and her foster family watches her closely when she is with the cat.
Please submit an Online Adoption Application if you are interested in Rue. It is always the first step in our adoption process.
