These six “works of art”—Georgia, Frida, Vincent, Rockwell, Whistler and Hopper-- were surrendered to ESRA when their owner was no longer able to care for them. Mom was a purebred Springer; dad was a purebred Aussie. What a fabulous combination and what wonderful and brilliant dogs they’ll be! Sadly, one of the babies passed before we could get there. They came loaded with intestinal parasites and coccidia, yet arrived round, active and happy typical 5-week-old pups.

Rockwell is the "runt" of the litter. He weighed quite a bit less than the others when he arrived. He's quiet and shy. You'll usually find him in the background by himself. He’s our little underdog. Rockwell will be ready for his Forever Home at 9 weeks old the week of May 20, 2019.

What are we looking for in Rockwell’s Forever Home? We’re looking for a stay- or work-at-home family where Rockwell will receive lots of interaction, stimulation and socialization. We’re looking for a family committed to putting in the work to raise Hopper to be a well-behaved young adult. Training is a must. An active breed, he will need a family also committed to exercising him daily and regularly.

Rockwell received his initial deworming, his first round of puppy shots, and his microchip. It will be the responsibility of his adopter to get his next 2 rounds of puppy shots and Rabies vaccination at 16 weeks old. At adoption, we require a $150 spay/neuter deposit which will be returned when proof of spay/neuter is submitted to ESRA at 6 months of age.

We do adopt to out-of-state adopters but do require them to travel to Texas to meet and pick Rockwell up. Puppies under six months of age will not be allowed to fly in the cargo area of a commercial aircraft.  They will be allowed to travel in the main cabin area under the front of the seat of their adopter following FAA and airline regulations.

If Rockwell is your "pick of the litter", please submit an Online Adoption Application if you are interested in him. It is always the first step in our adoption process.

Important notes about puppies:  Because they are so young, each puppy will be placed on a spay/neuter contract. This means that in addition to the regular adoption fee, a monetary deposit will be required, and it will be refundable when proof of spay/neuter is supplied to ESRA.

We do not place puppies as presents or surprises. The entire prospective adopting family needs to meet the puppy. Also, please remember that puppies require a lot of care, attention, and training, and they do chew on things. The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment.
