Welcome Odie! This gorgeous boy is looking for a Forever Home where he can build trust and confidence. We hope to find a home where he can be the center of attention!
Odie has had a rough start, but he's still young and adaptable. If people raise their voices, he will cower; therefore, a quiet home is a must. If Odie gets too excited or scared, he may demonstrate submissive urination. Again, he is still young and this is something he can overcome with your love and patience. Odie also needs some socialization with dogs that will befriend and accept him. He has been picked on by the other dogs in his home. He is friendly with strangers and also gets along with cats.
Odie is current on his vaccinations, microchipped, neutered and heartworm negative. Odie is currently taking medication for a skin condition most likely caused by stress. Right now he requires frequent baths with a medicated shampoo.
Odie is a smart boy! He so wants to please his foster mom and constantly seeks her approval. He's used to sleeping on a doggy bed next to his foster mom in the bedroom. He's house trained and his foster home has a doggy door. Odie has never been to a groomer, but he likes to ride in the car and he's good for his baths.
When Odie was a puppy he was crate trained, so he would probably adapt to being crated if absolutely necessary. It's always good when a dog feels comfortable in a crate because there will be times in the dog's life when he needs to be crated--at the vet, the groomer, or possibly during an evacuation. Of course while crating is a helpful tool, we do not want Odie to spend all day or all night in a crate. He's a young boy who needs to run and play! Odie loves his toys and needs an occasional chew bone.
