- Liver & white
Miss Nellie Mae is as sweet as she looks. Her prior owners were devastated to have to part with her, but she and the other resident female dog could not live together peacefully. Nellie needs to be in a one-dog home where she can soak up all the human attention.
Nellie is crate-trained and housetrained and she even knows how to ring bells to go outside. She does well on a leash and does not beg or countersurf. This smart girl already knows “sit,” “down,” “off” and “paw.” She will sit and wait for her food until released with an “OK, eat!” She also stays right by your side, never wandering off. When she runs around the yard, she always stops and looks, to make sure her humans are still nearby.
Nellie is very affectionate – she loves to snuggle and give kisses. A true Velcro Springer, she will sit on your foot (or jump in your lap or on the couch if you’d like that.) She sleeps in her crate at night, but would very much enjoy cuddling in the bed.
Despite her young age, Nellie is not overly high-energy. She is getting three daily walks, but is not up for yard games as she tends not to fetch or chase balls or toys. True to a young, adventurous Springer, she may have a tendency to get into an open trash bin or laundry bin, so stay on your toes.
She has lived with cats, but has a tendency to play with them, which the cats do not appreciate. This tender soul does get a little nervous around new people and would prefer not to live with children under 12.
If you are looking for a snuggle-bug, Velcro Springer, and are home most of the time with a calm, steady household, Nellie would love to come live with you.
