This petite, beautiful Springer is Maggie.
This silly girl likes to start her day with her happy dance -- which includes running around the house, falling to the floor, rolling on to her back and moving to and fro all the while wagging her tail. Maggie is a sweet girl who is affectionate with people. However, she does tend to bond to one person in the household more than others.
Maggie does enjoy her daily walks around the neighborhood and afterward is ready to curl up next to you for a nap. She is a cuddler and prefers to sleep on the bed with her people. Maggie rides well in the car and has good house manners. Maggie is not just another pretty face; she is smart too. She should continue to blossom in an obedience class she can take with her people.
Right after Maggie came in to foster care, we discovered she was heart worm positive. Happily, her treatment has been successful and she is healthy and ready for her next life adventure. She does get nervous and anxious when left alone and she has been taking medication that is helping her to feel better when no one is at home. Maggie also has experienced mild seizures that occur infrequently. Her veterinarian felt it in Maggie’s best interest to place her on medication for seizure prevention. As is standard practice, Maggie should have regular checkups with her veterinarian to make sure the medication dose is still appropriate for her. Both of these medications, in addition to her monthly heartworm tab, are inexpensive.
Maggie’s perfect Forever Home is one where she is the only dog, her people are home with her more than they are gone and she can cuddle up next to her humans on the couch and bed. Maggie wants to be where her people are -- gardening, watching a movie, taking a trip – that’s where she wants to be. Being that Maggie likes to chase rabbits and squirrels, a yard with a taller fence is needed. Due to her desire to chase critters, cats would not enjoy her company.
Maggie is a cutie pie, a good girl, so sweet and easy to love. If Maggie sounds wonderful to you and you would like to meet her, please plan on doing so in person.
Please submit an Online Adoption Application if you are interested in Maggie. It is always the first step in our adoption process.
