Springers for Seniors

Meet Madison! This precious girl was a much loved family member until about four years ago when personal circumstances affected her owners’ abilities to properly care for her. Since that time, Madison has not had a stable home life and did not receive any medical attention. Fortunately, this sweet soul was surrendered to ESRA and is now blossoming in her loving foster home.

Among the physical issues Madison endured were that her untrimmed nails had curled and grown into her pads, causing severe pain and making it nearly impossible for her even to walk. Madison also suffered from urinary incontinence, which left burns on her belly and caused her tummy fur to fall out. Based on her poor condition, Madison has received much needed veterinary care with the help of ESRA and her foster family. As a result of this TLC and therapy, Miss Madison has made great progress! She now proudly walks around the block, starting out with a trot, her pretty head held high!

A true love bug, Madison is friendly with all people and other dogs. She adores her foster family, lighting up with excitement and a wagging tail when they smile at her. As she thrives on human contact and admiration, Madison could be found with her head on the laps of guests visiting her foster home during December holiday parties. Her specialty is winning hearts and receiving affection from admirers. Petting Madison feels like caressing a cloud because of her soft and silky fur. Her foster mom calls her a sweet teddy bear.

This beautiful girl is a big dog with a long body, and she does have arthritis in her back. Because she has difficulty raising her legs, Madison cannot manage stairs or steps. She appreciates the many doggie beds in her foster home since getting on furniture is not possible with her physical limitations. As a sweet senior Springer, she also needs a potty break and a drink of water during the night. While Madison’s eyes are cloudy with granuloma, she can see; however, she cannot hear. Bothered by skin issues from previous neglect, Madison now receives medicated baths to calm and soothe her discomfort.

Madison is laidback and submissive; she is not the least bit pushy, has no vices, and is not fazed by anything, even the cats at the veterinary office. This cutie is housetrained and has never had an accident in her foster home. Madison relishes her high-quality food and even enjoys the cold winter temperatures. Since she delights in human companionship, a Forever Home with someone there most of the time would be preferred.

Sweet Madison has made a huge impression on her entire foster family; they have fallen in love with her and want the very best for this special princess. Madison has demonstrated so much potential and is absolutely deserving of a Forever Family to embrace her needs and provide the devotion that she deserves.
