Larry is a terrific boy with a big heart whose greatest needs are stability and love. He has some uneasiness initially, but given a little time, he becomes a wonderful member of the family.

True to his Springer nature, Larry wants to be around his people all the time. He also cannot get enough of playing ball, and he will continue to bring it back to you! Larry is crate trained and very well housetrained. He will go into his kennel willingly with a treat, although he would rather be out and socializing. He will become your shadow, following you around and waiting on the other side of the door for you to come out.

Need an alert to let you know that someone is at the door? Are you looking for a dog that loves to howl at the firetrucks? Larry is your guy! He wants a job to do, and that job is to be your watchdog.

Larry needs to be the only dog in his Forever Home because he craves all of his people's attention. He also will chase cats. Though there are no children in his foster home, we believe that Larry will do well around kids aged fourteen and older. What he needs most from his adopters is to know that he is truly in his Forever Family so that he can get into a good routine. A steady home with rules to help him learn what is best will contribute to his security and happiness. Larry loves to know that you are in charge and that you will tell him his boundaries. This way he will become secure and trust you.

This healthy young boy needs exercise every day. Larry walks fine on a leash, although he could use a little more work on that, too. He also needs to be outside running around, but because he is easily distracted and gives chase to those distractions, he would do best with a fenced yard so he can explore safely. You will not have any moles in your yard once he settles in! After having fun exploring or playing, he settles down nicely with a Nylabone.

Larry needs a home where he will receive lots of love and where he can show his affection by giving his special, delicate doggie kisses in return. He will be a great dog for a family willing to help him by showing him that love and letting him know what makes his humans happy! If you'd like to learn more about Larry and get in on those doggie kisses, contact his case managers at the email address below.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and the final decision rests with the dog’s case manager.
