Hi, my name is Jack! I joined the ESRA family in early October, 2018 when my first family could no longer care for me. I am a typical Springer who loves all people! In my foster home I have a mom, dad, a Springer foster brother and a Terrier foster sister and we all get along great! I have a foster sister cat, but mom won't let me meet her because she says I get a funny look on my face when I see the cat. I also have wonderful friends who visit often called "kids" and "grandkids." I get so excited when they come to visit! The three young grandkids often bring their dogs for me to play with.
I love to bark at squirrels, hunt lizards, go for walks, and meet new people and dogs. My favorite thing is to cuddle with the humans. I will get on the furniture if you allow, but if you don't want me on there I will respect your wishes - when you are watching! I am a counter surfer, so food needs to be out of reach of my long legs. I will stay in a crate, but we have a doggy door at my foster home so we can go out as we please. I will require a yard that is fenced with a minimum height of 6 feet. In my first home, I became an escape artist because I was left alone so much. I've not tried to escape from my foster home but I do get really excited about the squirrels and I may try to fly over a shorter fence. I know basic obedience commands like Come, Sit, Stay, Down.
I stand quietly while being bathed and getting my ears cleaned, but I am touchy about my feet and long tail. I am neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped. I'm up to date on vaccinations, had have had recent blood work, a urinalysis and my teeth cleaned. I do take a twice daily pill for seizures. I had two known seizures before starting my medication, one in June and another in November.
Don't miss out! If you have room in your home and heart for me, I know we will be best friends for life!
