Meet Graham! This irresistibly adorable fellow is pure Springer goodness. He is sweet-natured and calm. He loves and obeys everyone, including the package delivery guy! While Graham’s foster family has not yet heard even a woof from him, when they do, it will probably be a big-dog bark, based on his substantial size.

Handsome Graham was surrendered to ESRA because his previous owners could not provide the care that a young dog requires. His foster mom raves that Graham is a terrific boy, and it is hard to believe that he is just a youngster. She says he is very eager to please and to learn new skills such as walking on a leash. This smart Springer knows the commands Sit, Stay, Down, Come, and Wait.

Graham is delighted to play in his foster family’s fenced yard, especially with his ball. He will also lie down quietly and chew on a Nylabone, sharing nicely with his foster brothers. Indoors, Graham can often be found asleep in his crate, which is left open during the day.

This well-behaved boy rides nicely in a car, though it was reported that he howled and cried on the first leg of his rescue transport. He fussed for less than five minutes in his foster family’s vehicle before quietly settling down for the final stretch of the journey to his foster home. Graham continues to ride politely in the back seat for errands and short road trips.

It was mentioned that Graham had his favorite place on the couch in his former home. He got up on his foster family’s couch once, at which time he was told “Off” with one finger on his collar to show that they preferred him on the floor. Graham followed instructions and has never attempted to get on the furniture again. Typical Springer!

Perfectly housetrained Graham will sit at the door and wait to be let outside for potty time. He would greatly appreciate a Forever Home with a fenced yard where he could play and explore safely to his heart’s content. Another dog would be great company for Graham, but having a canine companion is not a necessity for him. What is necessary is a loving Forever Family with what his foster mom describes as “backbone,” which means being dedicated and devoted to continued training and consistent leadership for this young, charming lad.

Graham is simply a sweetheart, and he deserves only the best adopters, people who will truly love, cherish, and appreciate this jewel of a boy! Contact Graham’s foster mom for more delicious details about her sugar.
