Georgie is a pocket-size, precious gem and the perfect companion! While we're not sure of Georgie's breeding, we suspect he might be a Springer/Cocker mix. Regardless, he is absolutely darling and needed ESRA's help.
He was originally found out wandering in a field in a rural area by a family. He was terrified with puncture wounds all over his body, likely the result of wild animal attacks. Once nursed back to health, they found him a home with a loving couple who named him "George Harvey Strait" aka Georgie. Sadly, Georgie's current family must move overseas and is unable to bring Georgie along.
Georgie is gentle, loving and kind. It appears he had little socialization and experienced quite a bit of fear in his former life. Hence, with strangers he is very timid, requiring some time and space to warm up. Once he's comfortable, however, he's a regular little smiling, happy and affectionate little boy who wants nothing more than to be your sidekick.
Georgie is wonderful with other dogs and cats. In fact, he loves cats! We really think Georgie would enjoy another gentle four-legged buddy in the home to help build his trust and confidence. He has excellent house manners; he's a quiet fellow, only barking when there's a knock at the door. He fares well left alone out and about in the house. He does not tolerate being confined to a crate or in small spaces. Georgie loves walks and runs and is excellent on a leash. He's not a ball player, nor a toy player; his idea of fun is simply being with you. While no dog is perfect, Georgie is just about as close to perfect as they come.
We believe George would be happiest with a quiet home, a stay- or work-at-home family and another furry friend.
Georgie is in excellent health, neutered, current on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworms and is on monthly preventatives.
