Meet George, a rambunctious, independent, and good-natured boy! He will thrive in a family that will love him, set boundaries for him, and include him in their daily activities. George is a fast learner, and he has already learned some self-discipline in his foster home. He will now sit and wait patiently for his food, and his leash skills have improved as well. It will be a must for George and his adoptive family to participate in obedience training together to help him learn what is expected of him and strengthen his bond with his humans.

George loves to be around people, but he also likes to be outside exploring. He is learning not to escape from his foster home to explore the neighborhood on his own, so a secure backyard is a must for him. He is smart and easygoing, but he does get a little anxious, barking and scratching at the door when his foster dad leaves the house to run errands, although he does settle down quickly and then waits for him to come home. This anxiety is becoming less of an issue as George gets used to his new environment. It is not likely that George is crate trained, but he is good in the house without supervision. He gets along well with the foster family's dog. George didn't seem to know what a cat was when he first arrived, but he now gets along all right with the foster family's cats, although he does occasionally get a little excited around them. He enjoys car rides and accompanying his foster dad while he runs errands. George also loves swimming, and he likes to jump into the irrigation canal and go for a swim during his walks. He can be a little mischievous when he wants attention, taking non-toy items off the ground or counter and playing keep-away with them, so he has lots of "stuffies" around for him to mouth.

This healthy, happy guy is up to date on his shots, has been neutered, is heartworm negative, and is microchipped. He is also housetrained. Anyone interested in adopting George must realize that in order for him to become a wonderful forever friend, it is absolutely necessary to include him in all phases of the family’s life. He will enjoy any and all activities as long as his family is near him.

George is an extremely sweet and loving boy looking for a Forever Family who will show him the unconditional love he deserves. If you have the time to devote to caring for George and room in your heart and family for a delightful, adorable Springer, please have an adoption application on file, then contact his case manager.

Please note that an approved application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog’s case manager.
