Doby is a very sweet senior English Springer Spaniel who came to ESRA as a result of divorce. He is young at heart and just wants to be loved. This boy quickly learned the rules of his foster family and has been a breeze to have around.
This laidback guy has an easygoing personality, and he fit right in with his foster friends from day one! When Doby arrived at his foster home, it was a non-event with the three resident Brittanys. Doby immediately started playing nicely and has shown no dominant tendencies. He is untested with cats.
Sadly, Doby has significant hearing loss, likely due to untreated ear infections. However, no one has apparently told Doby about his disability, as he bounces around with confidence and enthusiasm! Once you have his attention, he will obey the command Come with consistency. Also, a regular routine has helped him to thrive as he knows what is expected of him at certain times. Because of his hearing loss, a home with children over age twelve will be best for Doby.
This handsome guy is very attentive to the location of his foster mom, and he doesn’t like being left alone for too long. Therefore, a canine companion will be very important for him. A Forever Family in which at least one person is home a lot during the day will be ideal for our boy. Doby loves to run with abandon in his foster mom’s backyard. A fenced yard at his Forever Home is a must so he can continue to enjoy the freedom of the good life outside despite his hearing loss.
As with all ESRA dogs ready for adoption, Doby is heartworm negative, free of tick-borne diseases, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and neutered. He is ready to find his Forever Family and show them all the love he has to give!
