From his foster dad: Our very sweet, very BIG boy Bynum (named after one of the LA Lakers’ famous players) arrived in foster care in mid-March when ESRA was contacted by his family, who stated that they could not afford his necessary vetting. Bynum had an extremely large hematoma (a tumor or swelling containing blood) inside his right ear flap that had completely closed his ear canal. It required surgery to open up the fluid sack for draining, followed by ten days of antibiotics to ward off infection. While at the vet’s office, he was given an examination and brought up to date on all necessary vaccinations. A pre-anesthesia blood panel prior to surgery revealed that Bynum is a very healthy boy. His heartworm test was negative. Bynum also had a microchip implanted, thus completing ESRA's requirements for the precious Springers in our care.
This big guy is a dream dog, and he would make any adopter proud. We honestly cannot say a bad thing about him. He gets along with our cat Max, and when he greets Max, Bynum’s tail wags as if it will shake right off. Our resident dogs and Bynum get along great together, too. He knows the commands Sit, Down, and Stay. He does not bolt out an open door, and he comes on command.
Bynum never misses a meal, and he will amuse you by talking to you while he waits for his dish. He is completely housetrained, and we’re happy to say that he has not had a single accident since his arrival. He sleeps like a baby through the night (and he snores a bit, which is cute). Car rides are one of his favorite things, but being with his humans is first on his favorites list, of course!
Handsome Bynum has such a robust build that in glancing at his photos you might think that he is on the heavy side. Meeting him, though, you'll soon realize that he is big boned and rock solid. He is truly a gentle giant. In football he would be a fullback for sure.
Bynum is a happy, loving boy who is more than ready to find his new Forever Home. Are you willing to make this commitment and give Bynum a place in your heart and family? If so, please have an approved Adoption Application on file and be prepared to fall in love. Contact us at the email address below for further information.
