Meet Buddy, an energetic young boy who loves to exercise by playing chase and roughhousing with his foster siblings. Buddy appeared to be lacking in basic obedience when he arrived at his foster home, but this clever guy has learned to retrieve a ball and is quickly learning basic commands. His leash skills have also greatly improved, and he now does very well on leash. In order to be the best boy he can be, Buddy will need to take basic obedience classes with his new family. These classes will help him restrain his youthful exuberance and conform to expected behaviors. They will also provide excellent opportunities for Buddy to bond with his Forever Family. He is so incredibly smart that we have no doubt he will be at the head of the class!

Buddy gets along well with other dogs and has been great in his foster home with the two resident Springers. He really enjoys spending time and playing with them! He particularly likes to play chase, so a home with another playful dog to romp with is preferable for Buddy. He also loves everyone he meets and gets along well with the cats in his foster home. Although Buddy does well around children, he doesn't know his own strength, so he can sometimes slam into things and people when he is playing. This means that a home without small children will be the best environment for him. Speaking of home, Buddy is a typical Velcro Springer who loves to be where his family is. He is untested at being left home alone. He prefers to stick close to his foster dad at all times. Therefore, a family which includes someone who is home most of the time would probably be the best fit for Buddy. It will be vital for his new family to include him in all parts of their lives and activities.

This fit, handsome guy is up to date with his shots. Buddy is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative medication. He is housetrained and crate trained, and he knows how to use the dog door. Anyone interested in adopting Buddy must realize that in order for him to become a wonderful forever friend, it is absolutely necessary to include him in all phases of the family’s life. Buddy will enjoy any and all activities as long as his family is near him. If you have the time to devote to giving him the unconditional love and guidance he deserves and room in your heart and family for him, please have an approved Adoption Application on file. Then contact his case manager, and be prepared to fall in love with adorable and affectionate Buddy!

Please note that an approved application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog’s case manager.
