Blue is an energetic 4 1/2-month-old puppy who loves to play and chase tennis balls, and adores the company of another Springer. He loves to carry his toys and squeak those with squeakers, but hasn’t chewed or destroyed any yet!
He is very curious and has a short attention span. Therefore counter surfing is something he’s working on controlling. Blue definitely knows “sit,” although his attention span doesn’t permit him to sit much longer than a few seconds. He is able to sit nicely when at the door to go out and come back inside. This smart boy is housetrained already. He is crate trained, although he cries/whines for a short period of time before he settles down to sleep. (That may be because he would much prefer to sleep on the bed where he sometimes gets to snuggle.)
Keeping in mind that Blue is still a puppy, he needs a great deal of exercise. Currently he has access to a large fenced in back yard where he chases (almost non-stop) the resident Springer who is OCD about his tennis balls. We toss the ball and off he goes... and goes, and goes! (He barks and cries when he is left alone and his doggie foster brother is not in the room or outside with him.)
Blue has shown very little interest in the outdoor cats and seems a little intimidated by them. He has not had any opportunities to be with children recently, but would be fine with kids who can tolerate a puppy jumping and being little “mouthy.” (He’s learning that both of those behaviors are not desired.)
Blue has been battling a skin allergy issue in the past month that is not quite clear, so he will need a dedicated adopter that will work with him on this issue if he doesn’t outgrow it. Blue requests that there be another dog for him in his new home, and he would especially love a family that is home often and can spend plenty of time with him. He also must have a fenced yard to burn off all of his energy.
