Meet Beau, a loveable, laidback boy who was unceremoniously left in a night drop-box at a southern California animal shelter with nothing more than a note with his name on it. After a vet check and a plane flight to northern California provided by a wonderful Pilots N Paws® volunteer, Beau met his foster family and started his new life, receiving all the love and attention that he wants and deserves.
This handsome guy is surprisingly spry and energetic for a senior of his age, and his foster dad gets his own exercise trying to keep up with Beau when they are out on walks. Beau is good both on and off leash, never straying far from his foster dad. He is fond of "wooooo-ing" when they get close to home, encouraging his foster dad to catch up! Beau enjoys retrieving balls that his people toss for him, but he likes to keep them. He loves to be outside, but only if his foster family is outside sharing the experience with him. Beau is not a clingy Springer, but he definitely likes to keep his humans in sight.
Beau’s favorite thing to do is to nap on his foster dad's lap, and he sleeps on his foster dad's bed at night, although he is perfectly fine sleeping on his own bed, too. Beau appears to have some minor age-related deafness, but a whistle will get his attention if calling his name doesn't. He is neutered and up date with his vaccinations. He tested heartworm negative, and he is on a preventive medication regimen for that.
This easygoing guy gets along well with the dogs and cats at his foster home, even engaging in occasional minor play with them. At Thanksgiving, Beau really enjoyed the hustle and bustle (and extra attention) caused by a house full of extended family members, including kids. This was quite a change from his normally sedate environment, but he loved it!
Most of all, Beau just wants to be loved and paid attention to. In return, his lucky adopters will get an adorable and devoted family member who will steal their hearts. If you have the time to devote to loving Beau and room in your heart and your home for this charming Springer, please have an approved Adoption Application on file before inquiring with his case manager, and be prepared to fall in love.
Please note that an approved application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog’s case manager.
