Description:

Adorable Annie is a sweet, wonderful girl who is looking for a Forever Family to help her blossom. Prior to coming into ESRA’s care, Annie had an unfortunate and difficult life. She is ready to shake off her past struggles, which were no fault of hers, and embark upon a fresh beginning in a calm, low-key Forever Home.

Happy, joyful, Velcro Annie has the energy typical of a young Springer. She loves to wrestle and play with her ball. But while Annie adores time outdoors, she settles down nicely when she is inside. Her house manners are fabulous! Annie is both potty-trained and crate trained, nestling comfortably in her secure, cozy kennel without a peep. Since Annie thrives on the companionship of her humans, she is a super snuggler, but she will stay off furniture if that is the rule.

This spirited girl enjoys walks around the neighborhood and at the park. On a recent lakefront outing, Annie found pure pleasure in freely running the shoreline. With a bit more confidence and encouragement, she would likely have ventured into the water. Annie will greatly benefit from daily exercise with her Forever Family. Then, after a healthy romp outside with her people, this darling will cuddle up for a dreamy nap indoors.

Smart, eager to please, and quick to learn, Annie responds to gentle, firm leadership. She knows the commands Sit and Stay, and she waits nicely for her food. Her obedience is also demonstrated during car rides and appointments at both the vet and groomer.

With a keen prey drive, Annie is a birdy little lassie who does tend to pull on lead if there are a lot of scents to smell or small animals to track. She loves to race and frolic around the yard to chase and hunt, so she will require a Forever Home with a safely fenced outdoor area to explore.

Annie’s previous unpleasant home environments have caused her to be uncomfortable, afraid, and vocal around some people and other dogs. She is fearful of quick movements toward her and sudden noises around her. A quiet, peaceful environment with someone at home most of the time would be ideal to help this sweet girl settle in and understand that her new world is a safe place to be. Based on her anxious tendencies, Annie must be the only dog in her Forever Home. She would not do well with cats, and she is also not suited for the exuberance of young children; rather she would be best with teenagers and adults who understand and respect her insecurities.

While Annie’s past was dim, her future is bright. This beautiful girl has incredible potential with a patient, devoted Forever Family dedicated to making her feel cherished, confident, and comfortable in her own fur! The rewards of unconditional love await, for Annie will relish the chance to shine in her Forever Home and will return that love to her people.
