Hi! I'm Lexie.

I am a very special needs springer mix with a full tail. I am by far the sweetest dog my foster mom has ever had, but I think she might be a little biased! I love to snuggle, kiss, and I will talk to you whenever I can with woowoos and grunts. I sleep at the foot of my foster mom's bed on a big fluffy pillow, and I am quite content there. I get along well with other dogs, run with the best of them. I like to sniff the cats at my foster mom's house but I have never hurt any. I am wonderful on my leash never pulling even when another dog comes by, and I even will come back when I am off leash. I am house-trained, I can sit, and even stay (though sometimes, I just want to be with you so bad, I can't stand it for very long). I will go in a crate but I don't like it very well. I am the only dog that gets to roam my foster moms house while she's gone, and I never have an accident. I live with cats, dogs, and even a toddler at my foster mom's house. She is the perfect size for licking, and she likes to throw balls and toys around the house for me. My foster mom says I have a toddler's stamp of approval. I'm not sure what that means but it must be good!

I saw the doctor the other day and he fixed me up to date on all my shots, and I am on heartworm preventative, as well as flea preventative (fleas can be real itchy sometimes, but not for me now). When I was picked up by animal control I was full of fleas and ticks. When I was being cleaned up, I had an accident, and my hip was dislocated--what a horrible experience! I was in so much pain. The vet says I am a very lucky girl, though, and expects a full recovery. I just need to take it easy and have some check ups to make sure I am doing well. I am just starting to use my leg when I walk slowly and up the stairs. When I run watch out! I am faster on three legs then I am on four--I can use my fourth leg but I am afraid it will hurt like before so I am very protective of it. It is still tender and I'm scared and don't want to hurt it again, but a kind word and a treat (or two) will help me learn to trust again.

If you are interested in being my new mommy or daddy and can give me a loving home please contact my foster mom! I would love to meet you.
