See All Special Needs Springers
For those of you who met our foster Baxter, I am sorry to say he has joined Jan at the bridge today. He has been failing for about two weeks now and today could not go on. Both Bob and I held him in our arms and eased his journey to the bridge. I whispered in his ear to run free with my Buffy and to give Jan lots of springer kisses. It was hard for us, as Baxter brought us joy each and every day. Baxter was a true rescue dog and reminded me each day why I work so hard. At 12 years old his family left him tied to a tree when they moved away. Lost and alone he was taken from the shelter by ESRA and Tammy. Placed for a while with a family, he was returned when they moved and spent the last part of his life here at the Pola Spa. Loved by Marv and Marge who were his first foster parents, and Suzanne who always thought he was special and sent him presents often. He touched us all and we will never forget him. We will save dogs in his name and think of him often. Caryn Pola, May 25, 2003
