LYLA
Phoenix, AZ

Happy Girl!

Looking cool!

Posted: 12/08/16
Status: Available

Age: 7 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black & White
Variety: Purebred

Meet Lyla! Lyla is a 7 year old Springer Spaniel that was recently brought to Arizona from Tennessee by way of a network of caring people and rescues to find a new home. Today she is under our care and we are doing all we can to see that she gets the care she needs and a home that will continue her care and give her lots of love.

You see, Lyla was a beloved family pet who has an unfortunate story. Approximately a year and a half ago Lyla went from being healthy and playful to disabled. She suffers from a degenerative condition that has left her with little use of her back legs. Lyla does not let that get her down though. She has a custom wheelchair that allows her to go on walks and chase shadows and birds. When not in her chair, she is mobile using her front two legs to pull herself around. Lyla is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than to be by your side and cuddle. She is friendly to dogs, cats, kids and adults. It is believed that she could possibly benefit from physical rehabilitation exercises and swimming (she has her own life jacket!) so we currently have her enrolled in physical therapy at Arizona Veterinary Physical Rehabilitation under the care of Dr. Sonnet Jarvis. There is so much life and love in this girl. She just needs that special person or family to care for and love her back.

If you are that person ($200 adoption donation), please fill out our application:http://www.povertyspets.org/#!adoption-form/rhx4r and we will get back to you upon receipt.

MAVERICK
Dawson, GA

Posted: 11/30/16
Status: Available

Age: 4 years
Weight: 40 lbs
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Variety: Mix

This is Maverick-a 4 year old ESS mix who was originally adopted from us two years ago but was recently returned to us for a number of reasons but mostly because the owner was somewhat overwhelmed after they had rescued another dog last year. He is normally a long haired dog but he came in a bit matted so we shaved him but his fur is growing back nicely.

Maverick is very friendly and outgoing. He would be great for an active home. He is good with kids and is fine with most other dogs. He knows some basic commands. He is really a great dog and we would love to find him a new home soon. Maverick is current on shots, neutered, negative for heartworms and on prevention. To submit an adoption application, please visit our website at www.myhstc.org or email kimberlyterrell23@gmail.com for specific questions.

Adoption fee is $85 which includes all vet work

If you have never adopted from us before, we prescreen all applicants prior to a meeting. You may submit an adoption application at www.myhstco.rg

LANCE
Lisbon, OH

Eager for you!

Posted: 11/30/16
Status: Available

Age: 7 years
Weight: 50 lbs
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Variety: Mix

Hi there. My name is Lance. I'm about 7 years old and I weigh about 50 lbs.
I was surrendered to the pound by my owner and I am now looking for a new home.
I am a very sweet boy. I like people. I also get along with other dogs and cats.
I am very smart and I know some tricks and basic commands. I am also said to be housebroken. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me.

Our adoption fee is $120.00. The adoption fee must be paid in CASH. We are unable to accept personal checks or credit/debit cards for adoption fees. ALL dogs/puppies adopted from our shelter will receive their parvo distemper vaccine, bordetella vaccine, rabies vaccine (if aged at 12 weeks or older), be dewormed with a 3 day course of panacur dewormer, be microchipped, receive their current Ohio dog license and will be spayed or neutered. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt.

IF the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care.
We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter.

Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, lack or space, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. The adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him!

Shelter hours are: Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm Saturday: 9 am- 12 pm. The pound is CLOSED to the public on Sunday. There is nobody in the office on Saturday and Sunday, so therefore we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend.

Age: 4 years
Weight: 60 lbs
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Variety: Mix

Hello, my name is Buddy. I am a 4 year old Spring Spaniel/ Australian Shepherd mix boy. I weigh in at about 60 pounds. I used to live on a farm, but I could not control my cattle drive. I used to chase the cows all around the property any chance I got. I am looking for a home without cows. I am a very high energy dog and am very intelligent. I would do great as a sporting dog, doing something like agility or frisbee. I am extremely toy motivated. I am looking for a very active home. I will be unruly if I do not get enough exercise. With my adoption, it is very important that my adopters do a transition session with my trainer. I came to k9 with very bad food aggression, and my adopters need to know how to continue my training. However, when all of my needs are met, I will be a very loving and loyal companion. Come and meet me!

Age: 16 years
Weight: 40 lbs
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Variety: Purebred

My name is Hemingway and I'm a distinguished 16 year old Springer Spaniel. Through absolutely no fault of my own, I got ditched at the shelter. My foster mom can tell you that I'm an absolute gem. I'm sweet and quiet and love nothing more than snuggling up with my people. I get along fine with dogs and cats, though little puppies in my face isn't quite up my alley. I just walk away--been there done that! I've been around kids but since I'm older, I'd really like to live out my golden years in a quiet home. I like to move around and go on nice slow walks. I'm good on my leash so you'll enjoy walking me. I like to ride in the car, but I always get shotgun! I'm a bit hard of hearing and stiff in my back end which is just normal old guy stuff. Other than that, I'm in great shape. I am up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. My adoption fee is $200. Apply to adopt me here: https://rescueofhope. com/adoption-application/.

Duke is actually is part of a doggy duo. He came with a little terrier named Daisy. They might be litter mates. At least we understand that they came from the same home when they were originally adopted as puppies. They are joined at the hips. So it would be difficult to split them up. It makes it more challenging, however it's ultimately what's best for the dogs. You can see Daisy on the site as well. It's not about the money but what is best for the dogs happiness.

It's a great day to adopt me! I'm outside, playing with my new buddies that I met when I was transported to this nice shelter. Stop on by and have a look. Everyone here is so wonderful! I like it here but I think I would like a family and home to call my own.

My needs are minimal: eating = 2 minutes/day, sleeping = 8 hours/day, playing = 15 hours and 58 minutes!

My goal in life is to make you happy.
My greatest personality trait is that I can make people smile.
My greatest achievement so far is that I have made it to this point in my life to make your dreams come true.

I can't wait to meet my new family. My tail will take off wagging once I see you walk in.

Age: 7 years

Gender: Female
Color: Liver & White

Baby has a sweet personality, likes being close to her human(s) and will be very happy where she's also inside most of the time. She wants to be the only dog, but is okay around cats. She was probably born in late 2009. Her permanent home must have adequate arrangements for her exercise and safety when outside.

Besides standard shots, dogs are vaccinated for bordetella, heartworm tested and microchipped!

Interested? Send an application from www.humanecherokeecounty.org, or leave a message at 918.457.7997! Adoption requires the easy application, one-page contract, and very reasonable fee. Thank you!

GWEN
San Antonio, TX

Posted: 11/16/13
Status: Available

Age: 6 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black & White
Variety: Mix

Gwen and her mom were dumped in a middle of a highway median in San Antonio last September. Her mom was adopted right away, but Gwen has been patiently waiting for someone to adopt her for over a year.

Gwen is a very sweet, always happy, companion dog. She is house-trained and likes car rides. She prefers to hang out with her humans, so it is best to not leave her in a fenced in back yard by herself - she will scale a chain linked fence to come find you.

Gwen is picky about her dog friends and doesn't like her personal doggy space invaded by other dogs. She is okay with cats and well behaved children.
She will do well in a calm home with an active person, where she gets to be the best companion dog ever. She would love an active, retired person or a work-from-home human that will let her hang out with them all the time and not leave her behind for any adventure. She enjoys daily walks and could even stand a good jog.

L&S Dog Diggity Rescue is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We save homeless and abandoned dogs and find them loving forever homes in other areas, where pet homelessness is not epidemic.

All of our pets are located here, in San Antonio, and we partner with Paws Without Borders and other rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes. Our adoption fee includes vet care (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, etc), as well as transportation and health certificate. Please contact us to ask about our adoption process and our adoption fees.

SPLASH
Grand Prairie, TX

Posted: 11/02/14
Status: Available

Age: 3 years
Weight: 65 lbs
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Variety: Mix

Splash was abandoned on a isolated road where a lot of animals are deposited. He wandered upon an elderly friend of ARNT's property so she called us to see if we would find him his forever home.

Splash is a super sweet boy who is starved for attention. He kind of looks like a mix of English Springer Spaniel and who knows what. He has to stay in an outdoor kennel on the lady's property and never complains. HE IS A GOOD BOY!

He needs leash training, house training, and basic command training but we feel this would be an easy task for him. Someone goes out everyday to walk him and give him food and water and most times he has not gone potty in the kennel. This sweet boy was probably a back yard dog that no one took an interest in working with him to help him become a wonderful family member.

He is super sweet, loves people including kids and gets along great with the other dogs on the lady's property, however, we are not sure how he will be with cats. He is fully vaccinated, heart worm tested (negative), micro chipped and on monthly heart worm and flea preventative.

If you are drawn to this big guy, please email ARNT for a pre-adoption questionnaire which is the first step in the adoption process. Because a home visit is required in order to check out the fence around the property, he is only available for adoption in the immediate Dallas/Fort Worth area.

JOEY

Age: 5 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White

Look at Joey! This guy is a bit shy at first, but, he perks right up once you start talking to him...It's cute, he will saunter over to you asking to have his ears rubbed! He loves to run and play and would be an excellent walking or running partner! He has been waiting and waiting......don't you think is wait should be up?

He was brought to us from an extreme cruelty case with several other dogs. Joey has adjusted extremely well and does really well with other dogs and children and people alike. He is really special. He is also now very healthy. If you feel you can bring exposure to him, we would love it. We would love to find him a home.

Age: 3 years

CJ is a happy fella that came to us as a stray. The shelter requested a DNA test on CJs heritage and he is half English Springer Spaniel and half Labrador. He was originally from the shelter when he was just a little puppy. He is current on vaccinations except for rabies, micro-chipped, and has tested negative for heartworm. He has a lot of energy, so a home with a fenced in yard would be best for him. CJ could also use some obedience training. He doesn't like other dogs so he would have to be the only pet in the house. If you'd like to meet CJ stop out today! Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment.
