SOPHIE
Sandusky, OH

Posted: 5/28/16
Status: Available

Age: 3 years
Weight: 40 lbs
Gender: Female
Color: Tricolor
Variety: Mix

She has a very bold personality, wants to know everyone and get into everything, a very curious dog. She does NOT do well with other dogs however. She came from a home where there were other dogs, including a sibling, but that did not work out because she was too Alpha for the household. We have her as an English Springer Spaniel/Beagle mix, so we HIGHLY recommend a fenced yard, preferably a large one. We were told she was housebroken, but she has yet to get into the swing of our routine and for us to see that she is!

Posted: 4/04/16
Status: Available

Age: 6 years
Weight: 50 lbs
Gender: Female
Color: Black & White
Variety: Mix

Happy is Darbie's personality. Loving life and looking forward to each day, she is sure that her new family will find her today. Darbie likes to play with other dogs, not sure about cats, but she is willing to give them a try. She enjoys running outside, playing with her toys, likes the water, is sometimes goofy, and always has a smile.

Visit her and find out how joyous she is. She will make you laugh or even giggle. True to her springer spaniel heritage, she is a wonderful companion, loyal, and smart.

She might be too exuberant for small children but older children would be OK.

SHELLY
Louisville, KY

Posted: 3/06/16
Status: Available

Age: 13 years
Weight: 49 lbs
Gender: Female
Color: Black & White
Variety: Purebred

Meet Shelly!

Shelly came to KARF from a very sad and unfortunate situation. Due to a death in the family and the resulting loss of her home and income, Shelly's Mom, who is learning disabled and now homeless, was forced to part with her friend of 12 years. Shelly now finds herself in need of a new family.

Shelly is a 13 year old, 49 pound, English Springer Spaniel. She is a silly, sweet, friendly, affectionate, girl who loves people. She is healthy, active, playful, and loves her toys. One would never guess her to be 13 years old.

Shelly is spayed, heartworm negative, on heartworm and flea prevention, microchipped, and current on vaccines. She also recently had a bloodwork panel, which was normal, and had her teeth cleaned. Shelly is housetrained but takes an inexpensive medication to manage a prior issue with occasional night time urine leakage. The medication costs approximately $15 per month and has eliminated the problem. Shelly is not crazy about other dogs so we are seeking a home where she will be the only dog or with a dog who has a passive personality.

Won't you please consider giving Shelly a new start? She is being fostered in Louisville, KY and her adoption fee is $200.
If you have any questions, please contact us at kyanimalrelief@gmail.com.
If you are interested in adding Shelly to your family, please visit our website for adoption requirements and on-line application: http://www.kyanimalrelief.org/

Thank you.

GWEN
San Antonio, TX

Posted: 11/16/13
Status: Available

Age: 6 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black & White
Variety: Mix

Gwen and her mom were dumped in a middle of a highway median in San Antonio last September. Her mom was adopted right away, but Gwen has been patiently waiting for someone to adopt her for over a year.

Gwen is a very sweet, always happy, companion dog. She is house-trained and likes car rides. She prefers to hang out with her humans, so it is best to not leave her in a fenced in back yard by herself - she will scale a chain linked fence to come find you.

Gwen is picky about her dog friends and doesn't like her personal doggy space invaded by other dogs. She is okay with cats and well behaved children.
She will do well in a calm home with an active person, where she gets to be the best companion dog ever. She would love an active, retired person or a work-from-home human that will let her hang out with them all the time and not leave her behind for any adventure. She enjoys daily walks and could even stand a good jog.

L&S Dog Diggity Rescue is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We save homeless and abandoned dogs and find them loving forever homes in other areas, where pet homelessness is not epidemic.

All of our pets are located here, in San Antonio, and we partner with Paws Without Borders and other rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes. Our adoption fee includes vet care (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, etc), as well as transportation and health certificate. Please contact us to ask about our adoption process and our adoption fees.

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter at @dogdiggityresq and see Gwen on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeFIgAUUTlk.

SPOT
Benson, MN

Posted: 8/17/15
Status: Available

Age: 5 years
Weight: 65 lbs
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Variety: Mix

Spot needs to find a home! Spot is a very handsome 5-year-old mix of what we believe to be German shorthair and spaniel. Spot is going to need a very special home and someone to give him all the love and gentle instruction they can. All his 5 years were spent inside a cage and he has had very little human interaction. He is quite friendly and loving in spite of that though, but really has no idea how to behave or what a good dog acts like.

He will not make a good hunter. Once someone shows him what a loving home and family is like he will be someone's best bud forever! We would not recommend him to be in a home with small children as it is too unpredictable how he would behave around them. Spot is good with other dogs but it is unknown how he would be with cats. Spot has been neutered, wormed, tested negative for heartworm, and is up to date on all his vaccinations.

For more information on Spot or to give him a chance at a good life he so richly deserves, please contact Steve & Debbie at 320-392-5649. Spot's adoption fee is $150 plus tax ($160.31).

SPLASH
Grand Prairie, TX

Posted: 11/02/14
Status: Available

Age: 3 years
Weight: 65 lbs
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Variety: Mix

Splash was abandoned on a isolated road where a lot of animals are deposited. He wandered upon an elderly friend of ARNT's property so she called us to see if we would find him his forever home.

Splash is a super sweet boy who is starved for attention. He kind of looks like a mix of English Springer Spaniel and who knows what. He has to stay in an outdoor kennel on the lady's property and never complains. HE IS A GOOD BOY!

He needs leash training, house training, and basic command training but we feel this would be an easy task for him. Someone goes out everyday to walk him and give him food and water and most times he has not gone potty in the kennel. This sweet boy was probably a back yard dog that no one took an interest in working with him to help him become a wonderful family member.

He is super sweet, loves people including kids and gets along great with the other dogs on the lady's property, however, we are not sure how he will be with cats. He is fully vaccinated, heart worm tested (negative), micro chipped and on monthly heart worm and flea preventative.

If you are drawn to this big guy, please email ARNT for a pre-adoption questionnaire which is the first step in the adoption process. Because a home visit is required in order to check out the fence around the property, he is only available for adoption in the immediate Dallas/Fort Worth area.

JOEY

Status: Available

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Variety: Mix

Look at Joey! This guy is a bit shy at first, but, he perks right up once you start talking to him...It's cute, he will saunter over to you asking to have his ears rubbed! He loves to run and play and would be an excellent walking or running partner! He has been waiting and waiting......don't you think is wait should be up?

He was brought to us from an extreme cruelty case with several other dogs. Joey has adjusted extremely well and does really well with other dogs and children and people alike. He is really special. He is also now very healthy. If you feel you can bring exposure to him, we would love it. We would love to find him a home.

CJ
Fort Dodge, IA

Posted: 8/02/14
Status: Available

Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Variety: Mix

CJ is a happy fella that came to us as a stray. The shelter requested a DNA test on CJs heritage and he is half English Springer Spaniel and half Labrador. He was originally from the shelter when he was just a little puppy. He is current on vaccinations except for rabies, micro-chipped, and has tested negative for heartworm. He has a lot of energy, so a home with a fenced in yard would be best for him. CJ could also use some obedience training. He doesn't like other dogs so he would have to be the only pet in the house. If you'd like to meet CJ stop out today! Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment.
