3 summers ago a very special Springer, named Paulie, came into ESRA's care and into the loving arms of fosters Debra and Kevin Westrick. Paulie was the very first Springer on the ESRA website that I laid my eyes on back then, and led me to a whole new life. We had wanted to call him our own, but sadly his health became much too fragile for him to be adopted.

Paulie crossed over Rainbow Bridge two years ago today (9/30/07) and touched many people's lives and hearts.

In honor of Paulie's LIFE, his loving foster family, and so many very special Springers, Karl and I have officially adopted Special Needs Springer, Riddle, today. Riddle has been with us for a couple of months now and clearly belongs as a part of our family for the rest of his life. It only seemed fitting that we celebrate this day... not only in remembrance of Paulie, who led me to ESRA and to you all, but for all of the Springers that so deeply touch our hearts.

Rest in peace sweet Paulie, and until we meet again, watch over us all and know that you will always fill our hearts with love. Because of you, I have found my purpose in life, and hope that I may continue to help seniors and special needs dogs in their time of need. I have a feeling that you have had a hand (I mean paw) in sending each of them to me. We love you little guy.
