HAPPY ENDINGS!

MURPHY

Me in my bed. I really don't like it all that much, I like to stretch out more, but it makes mom happy if I get in it once in a while...and it takes takes so little to make her happy.

Hi,

My name is Murphy and I am a true ESRA Happy Ending Dog. I've been in my new home for just 3 weeks, but I know I'm home forever now.

My foster mom, Judy Manley, found my in a shelter in Pennsylvania. I'm glad she found me there, I don't think I had much more time left! She took me to her home to Ohio, where I lived for almost 3 months...it took that long just to get rid of my fleas and get me healthy again. She took really good care of me, but I knew it was only temporary.

My new mom saw my picture on the ESRA website and loved me instantly. Good thing I'm so photogenic! My new parents drove 1,200 miles round-trip in 30 hours to meet me, adopt me and take me home with them to Illinois. It was a whirlwind thing...Ohio today...Illinois tomorrow!

Now I am one of the most loved "found dogs" in the world. I have more than 5 acres of woods, populated with zillions of squirrels and rabbits and chipmunks...and the occasional cat, to call my own. I have "stay-at-home" parents with me almost all the time. I have my own pick-up truck to go to town in and 4 grandchildren who stop by to play with me. Life is soooooo good.

Since I have a reputation for not sharing or playing well with others, I am an only dog right now. But who knows, I may mellow out after a while and be willing to make room for a sibling...maybe, we'll see.

Right now I am just enjoying the total attention and adoration of my new family. It's good to be home!

These are some of my favorite pictures.

Me and Dad at the lake. He just loves throwing the tennis ball for me to fetch...
humans are so much fun to entertain.

Me and Mom just lazing in the sun, taking time to smell the flowers.
