HAPPY ENDINGS!

MILLIE

Millie at her new home with her best friend Frekcles

Millie was dropped at a NIGHT DROP BOX in a shelter here in Alabama. The cowardly owner called the following day to be sure that she was still there in the morning along with here AKC paperwork, and copies of her shot records.

Millie was extremely skittish in the kennel surrounded by all the other dogs. She was 3 years old and had never before been separated from her 9 year old ESS friend. The owner had stated that the 9 yr. old did not get along well with Millie because she was too active.

Within the first few days a of stay, a man who claimed to be a 'expert' on dogs. Stated that she was unadoptable because of how she presented herself in the kennel and she may even be aggressive.

By the time I had gotten involved the staff at the shelter where all handling her as a 'aggressive dog'. She had not bitten anyone or even snapped at anyone. However she did bark when someone approached her kennel.

The shelter had decided that she was unadoptable and hung a sign on her kennel stating this, they would only let the rescue take her.

From the first moment I touched Millie, I knew she was nothing but sweet and loving. All she wanted was to get out and run for a few minutes and then she layed down next to me and rolled over so I could rub her tummy. The staff was amazed at how gentle she was, because they had never allowed her to go to the runs in fear of being bit.

I fostered Millie for the next 6 weeks, until we found her a very loving home. Millie now has a best friend named Freckles and a wonderful Mom and Dad who love her the way she deserves to be loved.
