MIKE
We lost our 13 year old male Springer "Max" unexpectedly last December. He had been a family member from 6 weeks of age and his loss was devastating. Our 6 year old Cocker "Penny" was just as lost as we were and even though she now got undivided attention it was obvious she was very lonely. After the holidays we decided it was time to start the search.
We had been to every animal shelter, watched the papers, and checked out some ESRA dogs. One day I got a call from Suzanne about a 9 month old male Field Springer at the Irvine shelter that was to be up for adoption the next day. We got up early Saturday morning, loaded Penny in the van and drove the 2 hours to meet "Koko". It was love at first sight. On the way home we decided to rename him "Mike". It is the perfect name for this beautiful, energetic, loving friend.

Mike and Penny sleep under the kitchen window (even though they have a nice big Dogloo house)on guard. During the day Mike carries his buddy around in his mouth (we are sure he thinks it is a duck) and has run a race track around the yard.
