HAPPY ENDINGS!

LOUIE

Hi, my name is Louie. It used to be MO but my new Mom and Dad liked "Louie" better. This is my story.

I came from Missouri so I must have been born there. I was surrendered to a humane society with almost no information about me. They said I was 4 years old but my new veterinarian thinks I'm younger than that. No one adopted me and fortunately, Missouri Springer Rescue came and got me just in time. I lived in a foster home until Mom and Dad contacted Illinois Springer Rescue and told them they wanted a boy who liked children. Well, arrangements were made and I was on my way to Illinois. I was confused when I got to my new home, but they seemed to really like me. They gave me lots of toys but nylabones are my favorite. Mom and Dad think I was trained to be a hunting dog but, you see, I don't like thunder so I probably didn't like gunshots. I'm really a lover, not a hunter.

So it's just Mom, Dad and me. I get up early with Dad and he feeds me. I go out for a while and then I go back to bed with Mom until she gets up. I have a big back yard that I love to chase rabbits out of and Mom and Dad throw a ball and I like to bring it back to them. We go for a walk almost every day. Mom and Dad's daughter and 4 year old granddaughters come over a lot. Their Dad works a lot and has allergies to dogs. I like to play with "my girls". We play doctor, I lay on my back and they listen to my heart and pretend to take my temperature and give me a shot. They take me for a "walk" in the house and back yard. When I get tired, I just love to lay in the middle of the family fun. I go to "my girl's" house when their Dad is at work and I get along real good with their cat, too. I don't think there is anybody that I don't like. When we go for walks, I stop to get a pat from lots of the kids in the neighborhood. They always like to see me.

I just finished obedience class and graduated at the top of my class. Everybody in the class really liked me and I must confess, I was teacher's favorite.

Halloween was fun this year. Mom dressed me up as a pumpkin, and I helped hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters. I thought maybe the kids were all coming to say hi to me.

So that's the story of my life. It's pretty good here. I have pillows, the couch, Mom and Dad's bed to sleep on and I really do like to lay on Mom's lap. I might be a little big for this, but Mom and I both like to cuddle.

Mom, Dad and I want to thank Missouri and Illinois Springer Rescue.
