About a year ago, I was surfing the net looking for pictures of springer spaniels because I missed my springer. I'm a college student and had been away from home for a few weeks.

I found the springer rescue site and fell in love with a dog named Lacy who had been rescued in my hometown. I called my parents and asked if I could start the adoption process. While they said yes, I was later told that they didn't think that we would get very far. It turns out that I was right. Lacy was perfect for our family and we were perfect for her.

After a lot of debating we went on New Year's Day to visit her. That's the day we all fell in love. A few days later she was at our house for a trial visit and has never left since.

This year has been the most amazing year of our lives. We have watched a shy little dog, bloom into a strong, loving dog, who isn't afraid to try anything.
