HAPPY ENDINGS!

Koda and Sadie

Greetings! I thought I would share the story of two wonderful Springers from ESRA that have livened up my life immeasurably! I have attached some pictures for you to view. Koda (black & white) is a 5 year old male, and Sadie (liver & white) is a 7 year old female. I saw them on the ESRA website that I was perusing after losing my beloved 15 year old Springer Barkley in July. They were a bonded pair and ESRA wanted to adopt them out together. I kept coming back to their pictures, over and over. Something about them pulled at my heart strings, and eventually I emailed for more info on them. Their previous family had moved to South Africa for a job, and after plans to move the dogs with them fell through, they made the heart breaking decision to have ESRA find the pair a home. I know how hard that must have been, and it is very clear that these two pups have been well loved and cared for! After talking with the ESRA coordinator and foster mom several times, I decided I would take the plunge and invite Koda & Sadie into my life!

I drove from Denver, Colorado, to Salt Lake City, Utah, to pick them up. Along the way, I was able to transport 3 other Springers from towns in Wyoming to new foster homes, kind of a Rescue Springer Railroad! That was a fun filled trip!! I got to meet great ESRA folks, and wonderful Springers, and spend time with a great Springer foster mom named Carlee in SLC, where I picked up Koda and Sadie, and headed home to Denver. We stopped at every landmark and park along the way, to leave our mark! :)

Since Koda and Sadie have moved in every day has been filled with the joy of discovery ~ getting to know my 13 year old cat Beau (an on going adventure!); the challenge of understanding the concept of "raised garden & flower beds"; and the exhilarating pleasure of galloping over the Colorado grasslands and finding water and mud, no matter how dry the terrain!! :) There is nothing more beautiful than a English Springer Spaniel running full out, tongue lolling in their laughing face!

Koda & Sadie are healing the hole in my heart, and they make me laugh every day. No matter how tough my day at work was, coming home to these two welcoming faces, excited just because I'm coming home, and doing the Spaniel "wiggle-butt" and "happy-face" to prove it, makes the day a "perfect day!" Thank you ESRA for helping bring these two bouncing bundles of joy into my life and helping them find their new forever home!

Sincerely,

Karla, Koda, Sadie & Beau-beau the kitty
