HAPPY ENDINGS!

FURRARI

Gracja, Furrari and their dad Peter.

Hello! My name is Furrari. My parents gave me this name because I am always so happy to be racing around. But it wasn't always this way.

I was born in the first part of 1998 (I think) and didn't really have a nice life. I don't remember much about this period of my life, except that I ended up in a county shelter in Los Angeles with lots and lots of other sad stories. Although the people there tried to be friendly, I was terrified. I guess that is why my name was Boo.

Then Auntie Peggie from ESRA rescued me on October 14, 2000. She introduced me to Auntie Suzanne, whom I called mom for the next few weeks. These wonderful people are really angels!!

Meanwhile, 400 miles away in Gilbert, Arizona two nice people (Magda & Peter) and one great springer (Gracja) were about to change my life forever.

You see, Magda and Peter are volunteers with ESRA in Arizona. Gracja is their baby girl, a 2 and 1/2 year old springer. Gracja came from a breeder and enjoys a great life... she would be the first to admit she is spoiled.

Magda and Peter had been thinking of getting a brother for Gracja, and they came to the conclusion that the only sensible way to accomplish this goal would be to adopt one of the beautiful guys from ESRA.

My folks told me that they spoke with Suzanne about fostering me, and plans were being made for me to travel east in mid-November. But, the more Magda and Peter looked at my pictures... and the more they talked with Auntie Suzanne... they knew I was the boy for them.

So, on Saturday, November 4, 2000, Magda and Peter awoke at 4:00 AM, got dressed, kissed Gracja goodbye, and got in the Jeep. They drove 400 miles to Los Alamitos, CA - a journey that should have taken seven hours, was accomplished in about five. Auntie Suzanne introduced us at the kennel where she works. We ran around and played for a little while, then it was time for a long drive!

I liked riding in the Jeep! We stopped at every rest area along the way, so the journey home wasn't quick - but it was enjoyable! I like the sound of that: 'the journey HOME. When we finally arrived in Gilbert, dad stopped at Crossroads Park and we got out. Mom drove off and I wondered what was going on. A few minutes later she returned... with my new sister Gracja! Although I am loving her more each day, the first few minutes were something to see! Lots of sniffing and snapping and barking! Then the four of us got into the Jeep and went home.

All I could say is WOW!!! This is the best place I have ever been!!! Gracja and I ran around the house like two bulls in a china shop! Then we went running through our doggie door (a new experience for me) into our backyard. The next thing I know I am soaking wet! Mom and dad told me to be careful running around the pool, but it took one more 'dive' before I really understood those words of warning!

I have now been at my forever home for a week. I have met my doctor (she is really nice). I love my parents and my sister!! I could not have dreamed of a happier ending, or as my folks tell me, it's a happy beginning!
