COMET

Hi! My name's Comet and this is my story.

I'd really like to start from the beginning, except I was just a pup, and the beginning is a little fuzzy. One day I was with my mom and litter mates and the next my brother and I found ourselves at this really noisy, smelly place. It was pretty scary. There were some strange people there and they were saying something about there being too many dogs, and us being too young, and being 'put to sleep'.

Then a really nice lady named Pat Walter said she would take us to a 'foster' and we met another really nice lady named Judy Manley, who had a lot of other dogs. She had to bottle feed us and teach us how to be dogs, since our mom couldn't. She told me that  Dad was a Springer and  Mom was a Springer/Beagle mix. I guess that makes me a Springle Spangle.

Some time later some other people came to play with us. They knew how to play right and everything, and they didn't mind that I liked to cuddle and give kisses.  I was glad they came, but they went away. I was very happy when they came back and took me Home. Their names are My George and My Sandy. Now I have a big sister named Freckles. We get along great, but you know how big sisters are, she thinks I'm a pest sometimes. I don't see it myself. We also have these really neat guys to play with called 'cats' and some lower pack siblings called 'boys'.

We also get to sleep on this really big soft bed, even though we have to share it with My George and My Sandy, and we have a nice big yard to play in, and get to go on rides, and meet other people and dogs. We have a lot of toys and stuff to chew on and we get toothbrushes every morning shaped like bones. (well not like real bones, but you have to humor them) We have a lot to eat, and not even My George, My Sandy, Freckles, or anyone is allowed to eat the stuff I get. It's that good!

Anyhow, I sure want to thank Pat and Judy for helping me to get Home. It sure beats 'sleeping' forever at that noisy place. You ladies have really big kisses coming the next time I see you.

                                                                   Love,

                                                                             Comet
