Austin

Hello Everyone,

My name is Austin and I used to live in Naples, Florida. Thank you for looking in on me. I would love to share my story in order that I may show my immense gratitude to all you wonderful people at ESRA that have made my life so wonderful and have given me a happy ever after.

I loved my family very much and I know they loved me, they showered me with love all the time. But there was some problem with my size and the health problems with my family. So my "Mom" sent out a letter that broke her heart. She needed to find me a new home that would love me as much as they do.

Meanwhile, in Orlando. ESRA had previously brought about a friendship between two dog loving people. Somehow my Mom's letter got to them. Things happened very quickly from then on. Please look at two previous happy ever afters to understand how I fit in. "Daniel" and "Bailey".

Austin and DanielIt seems that my next door neighbor (Daniel The Spaniel) had been adopted through ESRA a year ago to a lady. That same lady had moved into a new home next door to another spaniel loving gentleman, who had just lost his cocker spaniel "Mr. Beaux". Between the two of them they fostered a beautiful lady dog named Bailey. Unfortunately Bailey had been medically neglected and had very bad cancer, so they gave her lots of love and joy before they were forced to help her cross over to the "Rainbow Bridge". They were both heartbroken.

So here was I, needing a loving a home and apparantly looking like Ms. Bailey's twin brother. A few e mails went backwards and forwards and before you know it - I was off to The Happiest Place On Earth - Orlando, FL! It seems that everyone thought I was a perfect match for my new "Papa". So I moved in with him. I was a little confused at first. But I got so much love from Papa and his neighbors and I had an instant friend in Daniel (provided I never go near his toys - which is fine with me - I don't like them anyway) I felt quite comfortable. Especially on the couch. I don't have to spend much time alone because when Papa is not at home, Daniel's mom is - so we share homes together.

I'm very polite so I do not like to talk about myself much. But I am about 5 years old. They tell me I am a very handsome, perfectly behaved English gentleman. BUT I have a brown patch over my lip that makes me look as if I am curling it. I also walk with an interesting gait in my hind legs - like I am swivelling my pelvis. Which is why I sometimes get nick named "Elvis". My new Papa thinks I have such a regal carriage I sometimes get called "Bentley". All the neighbors just call me "Lover Boy". But I know my name is Austin - I just like all my pet names too, cos they usually come with a treat!

I was pretty edgy and nervous for a couple of weeks until I realized how much FUN it is to live here. I don't have to stay home alone very much and the next door spaniel is teaching me how to play "Woof-Ball" I like that - so long as I don't get my ears dirty.

Thank you Family, for finding me the best home in the world. I love you. And thank you Papa - I love our life together. From Austin/Elvis/Lover Boy/Bentley
