I'm Agnes, now Aggie for short, and am one lucky little girl...I've known no hardship just loads of love and attention. Eight weeks after coming into this great world I went to live with a wonderful Mon and Dad that could not do enough for me. Unfortunately, I outgrew my surroundings and needed to run and use up my energy. So, I was offered for adoption through Springer Rescue under the condition that I would have room to run and a continuation of the loads of love I had always had. That's how I came to live with my new Mon and Dad, who are now my best friends. I came along with all my papers and more toys than you can imagine, boy had I been spoiled. We went to the Vet, I was in great shape, and found I really wasn't a little 11 month old girl, I weighted 49 pounds with long legs, and boundless energy! So when I jump on Dad to wake him up in the morning I do get his attention!
It was soon that I was introduced to my cousins who are frisky Golden Retrievers who I learned to romp and play with. Being a little younger and quicker it is always a blast. Then I met my Mon and Dads two and five year old grandchildren; boy did I like them, the hugged and played with me till I finally wore them out.
Mom and Dad were so delighted, and constantly laugh at my antics and have told me how wonderful I am, as they have never even heard me growl or act nasty..honestly. I even love our mailman. They were so happy that I love every body and every thing and have not a single bad habit . well almost. You see we live on the water and also have a pool, so I have a chance to chase shore birds occasionally that come looking for a handout, which is kind of fun. But there are two ducks that come almost every day just to aggravate me.they land in my pool and loudly squawk so I know they are there. Then I race out to chase them out of my pool, but they just swim to the other side and squawk back at me, I think they're laughing. This goes on until either I get tired or they get bored. Anyway I have learned to accept them.at least until I learn to dive in after them.
I've learned to fetch, go out in the morning with Mon to retrieve the newspaper, I'm learning. Mon and Dad took me to school to be enrolled and I met a number of nice people and other dogs at the St Petersburg Dog Training Club.boy what a facility. We start class next week for obedience and then agility. Then Mon and Dad want to try field trials, whatever that is, as I was field bred. I did hear Mon telling Dad the other night how nice it is to come home and find me so happy to see them, and that they don't have an empty home anymore..that made me feel really good, Dad said he agreed and it is energized as well!
Love to all, Aggie.
