Greetings ESRA members. My name is Phil Sproat and I live in Leesburg, VA which is just outside of Washington DC. My wife Janet and I are both originally from downstate Illinois and we have roots in Ohio as well. We have had English Springer's for 9 years now. Our first Springer Kendall has essentially been blind from birth due to congenital issues . Our middle child Springer Kenzie is six years old going on six months. We have a young male that is about 2 years old as well. I have been an ESRA member since 2007. I was introduced to ESRA through Judy Manley, Linda Lintz and Mary Guttieri.
On a professional note I manage a small group of Veterinary Clinics in the DC area. My previous experience includes Business Development roles and field operations roles with National Veterinary Associates as well as Banfield, The Pet Hospital. My educational background is in Business Management with an operational focus and I just completed my MBA.
Judy, Linda, Mary as well as other ESRA members in Ohio and nationally that I have worked with have all been tremendous friends and mentors. These folks opened me up to the world and passions of ESRA and our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome Springers . I am a member for life. Through my professional experiences across the country I can also tell you that ESRA is among the most organized and professional rescue organizations in the country. We should all be proud to be members of ESRA, Inc.
I am running for my second term on the ESRA Board of Directors. The first term provided many interesting insights and challenges. Also, In my Midwest VP role I gained additional valuable perspectives through working with the coordinators, teams and adopters in the Midwest. I have also had the opportunity to build bridges between our group and groups with similar missions to develop a much broader range of cooperation between our groups. I enjoy stimulating debate as well as out of the box thinking to the board and its discussions. I have also been able to provide vendor support for some of our larger needs through my industry connections. It is my hope to that I have the opportunity to continue to provide operational oversight and vision to ESRA, Inc. at the national level.
I can only do that with your support though.
My involvement with ESRA and its Springers is not a hobby… It is a PASSION . That is the commitment I will bring to the board and the ESRA membership for all the good we do on behalf of English Springer Spaniels across the country.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
