Coal Nuggett did not get along with the other dog in his home, probably because they were both male dogs and not neutered. Coal was given up.

The former owner purchased Coal from a breeder as a pup. He is a good boy who is a little nervous at the shelter; it's kind of confusing for him and he wants to go home for Christmas.

Coal is house-trained, and used to family life. He is also crate trained entering on the words: Bed - Nugget. He walks fairly well on leash and adores car rides. Nugget has lived with kids, other dogs, and cats. His former guardian said he loves people but seems to prefer men over women. He wants to hunt and needs room to run. He is a huge kisser and wants his people pals.

Barney came to the Humane Society as a stray in need of help with his skin condition. Volunteers have treated him and are giving him TLC and Barney is responding well.

Fireball is a very sweet and loving dog who needs to find a more suitable home. His owners are getting up in age and are having difficulty giving him the physical attention he needs and deserves.

We understand that Fireball is very laid back and gets along very well with dogs and children. Calvin and Hobbes were abandoned by their owner, left in the garage to be cared for by neighbors. They are very friendly with all people and great with kids. However, Calvin does not care much for other dogs, except his brother Hobbes, and he often picks on Hobbes as well. For Hobbes's sake, we feel these two should be placed in separate homes.

Hobbes does not like cats, and probably will not be good with any small furry animals (including small dogs). Calvin seems to do okay with cats, but probably should not go to a home with cats either, just to be safe.

Their limitations aside, they are very well-behaved, housebroken and know basic commands. Their adoption fee includes neuter surgery, current shots, deworming, flea preventative, and microchip. They have also been groomed since these pics were taken.

Buddy is a pure bred Springer Spaniel rescued by RUFF. He lived for five years on a chain, in the elements, with little human contact, scanty shelter, and a poor grade of food (if any). He was filthy, frightened, and sick.

Today he's cured of heartworm, several kinds of intestinal parasites, a bladder infection, flea and tick infestation. His coat was dull and portions bald. His coat now gleams and bald patches are filled in.

Buddy has a heart murmur and needs to be on medication for the rest of his life. He's also blind. Buddy is terrified of thunder storms, extremely sweet, very loving and very smart. He obeys well.

Buddy is house trained, he sits beside you when it's time to go potty. He loves to eat, loves to ride in the car, and loves rawhides. He goes outside on a long lead, giving him plenty of room to roam but no opportunity to get loose and lost. Once he knows the car, he jumps in and out easily.

Buddy has been a delight to his foster mom, however, now that he's in wonderful health, it's time for him to find his forever home. He needs a dedicated person who knows and understands blind dogs, but he does not need to be attached 24/7. Buddy does extremely well once he knows his surroundings. He's a bit possessive of his treats and would probably fare best in a one-dog household. Also it would be good if he could live with someone who is home most of the day.

This boy did not look so handsome when we pulled him from a local shelter. Covered in long matted hair, he looked (and smelled) like a wild thing. Between each toe was a good half inch of foxtails packed tight and piercing his skin. As we clipped his coat it became very obvious that this was one good looking dog!

Tahoe had been surrendered to the shelter in June, adopted early July and returned five weeks later. By the state of his coat it was obvious that his most recent owners had kept him outside - not the right kind of life for a Springer or any other dog for that matter!

Tahoe is typical of the breed: cheerful, fun loving and energetic. He's always game for an energetic romp and just loves to snuggle and be pet. He gets along with other dogs but has some jealousy issues when the petting is being shared, so for that reason might do best as an only dog.

Tahoe is neutered, current on shots, microchipped and housetrained.
